What a contrast, a fragile girl leans against an enormous stone column. The black and white photograph conveys an impression of loneliness as well as of pensiveness. Obviously it does not need spectacular colours or surroundings to touch the spectator. This building is marked as a fallout shelter by a sign on the wall. On the reverse side Jane looks in our direction, in a somehow provoking way, as if she would expect a reaction. Like many of the early 'Stiff' covers, this one is expressive in a typical manner.
